Resource Innovations brings a fundamentally different approach to the energy challenge which is constantly investing in energy software and solutions to guide utilities through complex and connected challenges.

Project: Brand Evolution & Creative Direction — Nexant to Resource Innovations

Objective:
To support the successful merger of Nexant, an energy software and utility solutions company, into a new unified brand: Resource Innovations. The goal was to create a cohesive visual identity that reflects the company’s expanded mission—delivering innovative, equitable energy solutions—while evolving the design function from traditional marketing support to a strategic, in-house creative team. While also providing additional graphic design needs through multiple platforms.

Process Overview:
Played a key role in translating the new brand strategy into a unified visual system. This involved reimagining Nexant’s legacy brand assets to align with Resource Innovations’ forward-looking identity, which prioritizes clean energy, inclusivity, and innovation. I collaborated across marketing departments to establish a scalable brand system—introducing a fresh, accessible color palette, updated typography, and a flexible grid structure. Then helped evolve graphic design from a marketing service model to a centralized creative team. Defined processes for intake, feedback, and execution to improve turnaround times and creative quality. Advocated for the value of brand consistency, visual storytelling, and design thinking in cross-functional collaboration.

Along with brand Identity, I designed templates and projects that set standards to create a balanced utility-sector professionalism with the warmth and clarity of a modern tech-forward brand. Many of the projects and deliverables include: brand guidelines and logo refinements, launch of campaign assets in both digital and print, internal branding materials for both presentations and onboarding assets, infographics and design reports for product and program storytelling, and website and social media assets. As a result, Resource Innovations has become one of America’s fastest growing companies (No.12) in the energy category according to the Inc. 5000 list.
